ART CENTER BUZZ -- LATEST HAPPENINGS

EMBRACING GROWTH: A NEW CHAPTER AT THE ARTS CENTER

It seems like I begin each blog with the same enthusiastic declaration: we're buzzing with excitement about the multitude of things happening, and well, here I go again!

We're thrilled to announce that we're expanding! We've recently welcomed four new talented artists to our community, and I can't wait to introduce them to you.

In addition to our growing roster of artists, we're excited to share that our calendar is packed with classes scheduled all the way through June and beyond. And that's not even mentioning the ones we haven't uploaded yet – but don't worry, they'll be up soon! From traditional techniques to cutting-edge trends, there's something for everyone in our diverse lineup of classes.

But that's not all – our outreach efforts are also expanding. We're proud to announce that we're sponsoring more off-campus classes and participating in a wider range of art-related activities throughout the Northern Neck and beyond. It's all part of our commitment to bringing the joy of art to as many people as possible.

Speaking of bringing joy, we're thrilled to introduce some exciting new initiatives. For starters, we're now offering painting parties for children's birthday celebrations and other special occasions. It's a fun and creative way to make any event unforgettable! Plus, we're offering classes specifically tailored for children with intellectual challenges. While many of these are currently one-on-one sessions, we're open to expanding to include more participants if there's enough interest.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the incredible support and dedication of our artists and the unwavering support of our community and customers. So, from the bottom of our hearts, a huge THANK YOU to all of you for helping us grow and thrive!

Keep an eye on the information below for more details about all of our exciting activities. And as always, stay tuned for more updates and announcements as we continue this incredible journey together.

LADYBUGS COMING TO MONTROSS -- YOUR CHANCE TO WIN ORIIGNAL ART

Mark your calendars for March 1st because Montross is about to become even more enchanting with the arrival of beautiful ladybugs! But these aren't just any ladybugs – each one is your ticket to an exciting art adventure at The Arts Center.

Here's how it works: Spot one of these lovely ladybugs around Montross, pick it up, and bring it to The Arts Center for your chance to win a stunning original piece of art created by one of our talented Jeff Bradford -- The Gnome Guy. Each ladybug is numbered, and that number corresponds to a designated artist. If you're the lucky winner, you'll get to choose from three paintings by that artist.

For those who do not win, you will be entered into a drawing for a piece of art work. There will be a monthly drawing.

So, keep your eyes peeled for those ladybugs, and get ready to embark on a delightful art scavenger hunt across Montross. Who knows, you might just discover your new favorite piece of art along the way

Each month the Ladybugs will be painted a different color,

March -- red and black

April -- green and black.

May --pale blue and black

June -- orange and black

July -- blue and black

August -- yellow and black

September -- brown and black

October -- purple and black

EXPRESSIONS OF TOMORROW: A Showcase of Young Artists

March10, 1- 4:00

We're thrilled to announce the upcoming Kids' Art Show at The Center this year, and it's going to be bigger and better than ever before! Not only will we be showcasing the incredible talents of students from Westmoreland County schools, but we're also excited to welcome participants from Colonial Beach schools.

Throughout the month of March, our gallery will be bursting with vibrant artwork created by these talented young artists. But that's not all – in a new twist this year, we'll be offering a few small prizes. The prizes will depend on the amount of donations we receive, so if you'd like to contribute and support budding artists in our community, please reach out to us. Also, the prizes will be based on "People's Choice", so please stop in to see the show in March and vote.

We believe that showcasing children's artwork and offering recognition for their hard work is a wonderful way to encourage their creativity and passion for art. Join us in celebrating these young artists and their incredible talents at The Center's Kids' Art Show! The Awards Reception will be April 7, 1 - 4:00.
