Watercolor Journaling

Four 3-HOUR CLASSES

Materials that I will provide

A watercolor journal, cake watercolors, brushes, water buckets, pencils, carbon paper for tracing, source material, collage papers, sharpies.  Some items will be for sale.  A $15.00 materials fee will cover the cost of the journal.

Materials that artists should bring:

Their tube watercolors, brushes, water bucket, sharpies, watercolor pencils, and any other supplies they have.  Palette, matte gel for collaging, or Elmers glue.

Focus:   

Each artist will work independently at their table to create several pages in their journal using watercolors and collage.  Source materials include flowers, birds, and other ideas on request along with inspirational quotes.  The journal creating is intended to be a collection of simple watercolor ideas and practice samples.

Demonstrations:  

I will start each session with a demonstration so that artists can experiment with a new technique.  These demos include:

1. Making textures

2. Tracing a subject

3. Outlining with a sharpie

4. Watercolor dry brushing and wet on wet painting

5. Collaging

6. Composition

7. Color theory

Price— $200/ 4 days.

Non-alcoholic beverages and snacks provided.
