DIANNE DRUMMOND

I was first introduced to Pine Needle Baskets at the age of 10 years old by a Seminole Indian grandmother on the boarder of Georgia and Florida.  We used to drive to Florida several times a year to visit my Grandparents.

We would stop to have lunch at the picnic area/roadside stand where she and her family sold pecans on Route 1.

The grandmother make Pine Needle Basket and I would watch her and she would explain the process and traditional ways.  60 years later, I am still making baskets.

I also teach Pine Needle Basket making classes privately and at The Lifelong Learning Institute of Chesterfield.  I take custom orders.
