ARTIST LAPREA RICH

Artist Bio
My name is LaPrea Rich and my artist pseudonym is Blaque Swan. I call myself the Blaque Swan because black swans are known for being underestimated and rare. Black swans are also considered to be the outliers in the Cygnus community. I possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology & Anthropology. One of my favorite courses in undergrad was "Theories". The theory I enjoyed learning the most was the "Black Swan Theory". The Black Swan Theory is an event that is unexpected but yields a high impact! The focal point of this theory resonates with me both personally and professionally. Not only am I full of surprises when it comes to releasing new content but you'll never know when I'll fly into your city and participate in the next Art Gala.
Company Origin/History
I am an up and coming artist from the DMV area. My specialty is acrylic abstract paintings and mixed media. My passion for art and design started when I was a child and over the course of the past few years I decided to take my passion to the next level. What started off as a hobby and stress reliever, after work, morphed into a part-time business. The business name Oh You Paint LLC was derived from the unanimous response I received from both family and friends.
Whenever anyone would ask me what I like to do for fun or what I was doing with my spare time, I would tell them “I paint” and I would always receive the same shocking reply “oh, you paint”? I found their responses amusing, so needless to say Oh You Paint LLC was born in November 2019. Oh You Paint LLC provides multi-dimensional artwork that is appealing to all age groups and can be displayed in home, office or entertainment settings.
Artist Statement
My name is Blaque Swan and I am Visual Artist with a specialty in abstract expressionism. My artwork explores the relationship between color, texture, and form. I am inspired by the beauty of the natural world, as well as the emotions and experiences that shape our lives.

For me, painting is a deeply personal and intuitive process. I approach each canvas with an open mind, allowing the colors and shapes to guide my hand as I create each piece. I am constantly experimenting with new techniques and materials, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the realm of abstract art. I use materials such as acrylics and mixed media, to build up the surface of the canvas and create a sense of depth and complexity.

Ultimately, my goal as an abstract painter is to create works that are both visually stunning and emotionally stimulating. I seek to capture the fleeting moments of beauty and emotion that exist all around us, inviting the viewer to contemplate their own experiences and perceptions of the world. I believe that art has the power to inspire, enrich and transform our lives. As an artist, I believe that my art has the power to connect us all to something greater than ourselves and am honored that I am able contribute my gift to humanity.
