This is a nuts and bolts class where you will learn about various materials, surface effects and tech-
niques used to achieve unique finishes using the two most popular brands of wax -- Dorland’s and
Gamblin. You will experiment with non-traditional tools and textural elements to apply paint. This
workshop will open new avenues to painters, especially with abstract ideas! Get ready to experiment
and have some fun!! No prior experience needed. Expect LOTS of demonstrations and personal in-
struction! You will leave this class with 3 – 6+ finished or almost finished pieces of work ready for fram-
ing, hang on your wall or to sell.
This is a preparatory / introductory class which you will need before taking more advanced classes with
Linda Benton McCloskey, Linda Broadwine and/or Jeffrey Erickson who are all scheduled later in the
year at various locations. Carole and Janice have taken classes with all of these teachers as well as
several others. These have been scheduled as they each have a different approach and encourages you
to develop your own style.
