Students will learn about canvas and surface prepping techniques. We will discuss the elements of oil, and principles of design. Lesson includes color theory, limited palette and color mixing, brushes, brush care and cleaning.     Instruction on materials and safety. How and when to use oil mediums and how they work.

Exercises will include sketching out designs, learning a transfer grid, color wheel, color intensity and drying times for oil colors, how to use a value study, step by step oil painting instruction for two finished pieces.

Each student will complete a binder (that is included with this  class) to keep their exercises and information.  We will also apply lessons toward a finished 16x20 Heron painting on stretched canvas and a 11x14 additional piece.

Students need to wear comfortable clothes and bring a roll of the blue paper towels and a pack of baby wipes, all other supplies included.  The class will will be FUN and informative...that I will put even the newest painter at ease !!!
