Anne McCahill will lead us in ceating a sky and grass (or any desired background scene) using fabric paint or watercolor paints. You can experiment with brushstrokes, color blending, and different painting techniques to achieve their desired look for the sky and landscape.

Once the background is dry, you will stitch a colorful "bed" of flowers onto the fabric. You can choose from a variety of thread colors and embroidery stitches to bring the floral elements to life. Stitches like satin stitch, French knots, and stem stitch work well for creating realistic-looking flower petals and leaves.

The combination of the painted background and the handstitched florals will result in a charming, textile-based artwork that showcases your painting skills as well as your needlework abilities. This project allows you to explore both 2D and 3D textile art techniques in an imaginative way.
