CONTEST:

Design Front & rear book cover for a non-fiction book — "Hospice The Early Years, Remembered Gifts and New Directions".

 

 Criteria: 

 

1. The image must be designed to fit a vertical book cover.

2.  Suggested by author -- A line of trees leading down a narrowing (but straight) path with light at the end. At the front, the tree leaves are green, then as they get smaller, they change color from spring to fall, perhaps with colored leaves falling. The last trees are leafless, with stark, black winter branches. The trees (except for the black winter ones) arch slightly over the path but leave an open space above.

 

2. The Artist can use the above suggestions to develop their submission or they can interpret the suggested design using their interpretation of the book title. 

 

3.  Media – Watermedia, oils, pastels, photography, multimedia.

 

AWARD:

There is no monetary prize associated with this contest.  However, the winner will be recognized on the inside cover of the book, they will be announced on our website and that of the author and associated social media.  The winner will receive a Certificate of Recognition which is always a valued asset to your portfolio. 

  

The winner of this contest will retain the ownership of the image but the author will have the right to reproduce the image in any way associated with the publication and promotion of this book.  The contest winner will always be recognized as the creator of the artwork.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

1. Limited to FOUR entries per artist.

2. Submitted in jpg /gif or tiff format.

3. Entries must be submitted with the application or via email—TheArtsCenterofMontross@gmail.com
